Private beta — now open
Everything known about your yacht. In one place that answers.
Manuals, serial numbers, service records, receipts — and the hundred things only you and your crew know. Captured by voice, photo, video or text, and turned into a knowledge base for your specific vessel that you can simply ask.

The problem
The answer is already aboard. Finding it is the problem.
Your vessel's history is written down somewhere — across manuals, invoices, service records, and the memory of whoever happened to be standing there. Nearly every question you'll ever ask about her has already been answered by someone.
The information was never missing. It's unreachable.
It's scattered
A 400-page PDF on a laptop ashore. A folder of invoices. A photo of a nameplate somewhere in your camera roll. Nothing talks to anything else.
It's in people's heads
The sequence for the stabilisers. Which valve is actually the raw-water bypass. The vendor who did it right last time. When that person leaves, it leaves.
It never gets written down
Because writing it down means sitting at a desk with a form, hours after the job, and nobody has ever reliably done that on a boat.
What goes in
Capture it however it arrives.
Aquagent takes whatever form the knowledge turns up in — a document, a snapshot, a spoken sentence, thirty seconds of video — and does the work of turning it into something answerable. There is no form to fill in.
What comes out
Then just ask.
Not a search box. A question, in the words you'd use with a chief engineer — by voice or text, and it's the same conversation either way.
Because everything was captured into one place, answers can cross sources that have never been able to talk to each other before: the manual's interval and your actual service date, in a single reply.
- Grounded in this vessel. Each boat has its own isolated knowledge base. Another owner's data never reaches yours.
- It shows its sources. Open the document and read the page yourself.
- It says when it doesn't know rather than inventing something plausible. On a boat, a confident wrong answer is worse than no answer.
Questions worth an afternoon
Every one of these is answerable from material you already own. The only thing missing was somewhere to put it.
Who it's for
Two jobs. One record.
An owner and a captain want different things from the same information. Aquagent is built so neither has to do extra work for the other.
If you own her
- Stop holding it in your head. The specs, the intervals, the history — asked rather than remembered.
- Check before you pay. "Has this been done before?" is a question with an answer now, not a shrug. Quotes get easier to assess.
- Survive a crew change. When a captain or engineer moves on, the boat's knowledge stays with the boat.
- Protect the asset. A documented maintenance history is worth real money at resale. See below.
If you run her
- Log it in twenty seconds. Speak the job while your hands are still dirty instead of writing it up tonight — which is to say, never.
- Get up to speed on a new boat in days. Everything the last crew knew, askable from the first morning aboard.
- Find the spec without the hunt. Part numbers, capacities, torque figures and intervals, from the manual, in one question.
- Show your work. A complete, timestamped record of everything you did — the best professional reference a captain can hand over.
What it's worth
A documented vessel sells better than an undocumented one.
When a buyer looks at a used yacht today, they are almost always relying on a survey — a single snapshot, taken on one day, by someone who has known the boat for a few hours. Everything before that day is hearsay.
What a buyer gets without a record
- A point-in-time survey and a folder of whatever survived
- No way to know what was deferred, or how long ago
- Uncertainty priced straight into their offer
What a buyer gets with one
- Every service, dated, with cost and who did it
- Every manual and serial number already in one place
- The quirks, on video, explained by the people who knew her
- A record they can interrogate themselves, before they bid
A yacht that can answer a buyer's questions is a different proposition from one that can't. The knowledge base isn't a convenience you pay for and then lose — it's an asset that goes with the boat, and it is worth most at exactly the moment you stop using it.
Coming to the beta
Your engines start keeping their own record.
A gateway on the vessel's NMEA 2000 network reads what the engines already broadcast and logs it continuously — oil pressure, fuel pressure, exhaust temperature and the other indicators that tell you how an engine is actually doing.
Over a season that builds a baseline for your engines — not a generic figure from a manual, but what yours read when they were running well, at the RPM you actually cruise at. After that, what matters is drift: the slow upward creep in exhaust temperature that no alarm will ever sound for, because nothing is wrong yet.
Think annual bloodwork, not a smoke detector. Your engines' own alarms already handle emergencies. This is for the signal underneath them.
What it makes answerable
Readings land in the same record as the work, so the numbers and the history can finally be read together.
What's in it
Built around capture and recall.
Voice and text, one memory
Ask out loud, follow up by typing — same assistant, same conversation. Chat history is saved per vessel.
Vessel-specific assistant
Answers from your manuals, logs, notes and tasks — with sources, and an isolated knowledge base per boat.
Photo & video capture
Open the phone camera from inside a task or log. Images are read and annotated; video is transcribed and described.
Document repository
Multi-file upload, an in-app PDF reader, video playback and an image viewer. Everything stays openable.
Maintenance logs & tasks
Date, category, description, hours, cost and next service — with photos and video attached to both.
Research beyond the boat
When the answer isn't in your documents, the assistant can search the web — and tells you which it used.
Multiple vessels & crew
Mothership, tenders and the one at the other dock — each with its own record and its own invited crew.
Installs on your phone
Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app — no App Store, no update to chase.
Engine health Coming
NMEA 2000 telemetry, per-engine baselines and drift detection on the parameters that matter.
Who's behind it
Built by an owner. No name on the door — here's why.
Aquagent is made by Aquagence LLC, a Florida company. The person who built it is an owner-operator who runs a small fleet, and who has an unrelated day job he'd rather keep separate from this.
That's an awkward thing to lead with, so let's deal with it head-on. Boat owners are right to be wary of software from outfits with no visible human — we've read the same forum threads you have. One owner put it perfectly: "I've gotten a bit gun shy about apps and services where I don't know who I'm dealing with."
Fair. So instead of a photograph, here's what we can actually offer.
- A registered company you can look up. Aquagence LLC is a real Florida entity, not a handle on a forum.
- A human on the other end of email. Write to hello@aquagent.ai and you'll get a reply from someone who owns boats — during beta, same day.
- A product that shows its work. Every answer cites what it came from. Judge the software, not the founder's CV.
- Named captains and owners, shortly. Rather than ask you to trust us, we'd rather you hear from people running it on their own boats.
Private beta
Put it on a real boat.
We're opening Aquagent to a small group of owners and captains who'll actually use it — with real manuals, real jobs, real mess — and tell us where it falls short.
- 1Free for the whole beta. No card, no trial clock.
- 2A direct line. You email, a person answers — not a ticket queue.
- 3Real influence. Beta feedback is what's shaping the roadmap right now.
- 4Founding pricing locked in at launch.
What we ask in return: load a season's worth of real documents, use it properly, and tell us honestly what's missing.
Questions
Straight answers.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the beta, and no card is required. When we launch we'll price it fairly for owner-operators, and everyone who beta-tested keeps founding pricing.
Where does the assistant get its answers?
From your vessel's own knowledge base — the manuals and documents you upload, your maintenance logs, your tasks, and your notes, including the ones captured by voice, photo or video. Each boat's knowledge base is isolated, so one vessel's information never appears in another's answers.
When something genuinely isn't in your records, the assistant can also search the web — and it tells you which it drew on, rather than blurring the two.
Is this just a chatbot with a boat logo?
No. A general chatbot can tell you how marine diesels work in the abstract. Aquagent answers questions about your boat — what the manual on your shelf says, what you replaced in June, the serial number on the plate you photographed, the video your engineer shot of a start-up sequence — and shows you where each part of the answer came from.
Is there an inventory or spare-parts module?
Deliberately not. Inventory grids only work if someone keeps them current, and on a boat nobody does. Instead you capture what's aboard however is quickest — a voice note, a photo of the shelf, a line of text — and ask the assistant for the list when you need it: filters by part number, quarts of oil aboard, what you're short of. The structure comes from the question, not from a form.
Can I really just photograph a receipt?
Yes. The image is read, the details are extracted, and it becomes part of the vessel's history alongside PDFs from the yard. Same for a nameplate, a wiring label, or a page of a manual you only have on paper.
Does it work offline?
Not yet — Aquagent needs a connection. We'd rather say that plainly than have you discover it thirty miles offshore.
Two things make it less limiting than it sounds. Most of this work happens at the dock, on the hard, or within sight of a tower — which is also when you're most likely to be logging it. And the vessels this is built for increasingly carry Starlink, which is the same connection that will carry automatic engine data.
If offline capture matters to how you'd use it, say so when you request access. That's exactly what beta feedback moves up the list.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Aquagent runs in the browser and installs to your home screen like an app — open app.aquagent.ai on your phone and add it. There are no App Store or Play Store downloads, which also means no updates to chase.
Can my captain and crew use it?
Yes, and they should — most of the knowledge worth capturing is theirs. Crew are invited per vessel, so the right people see the right boat.
What happens to all this if I sell the boat?
That's rather the point. The knowledge base is the vessel's, and handing it to a buyer is a meaningful part of what they're getting. Full export is a priority before general release; during the beta, email us and we'll get you your records.
What kind of boats is this for?
It's designed around the owner-operator and owner-with-crew in the 40–80 ft range, but it works from a centre console up to a professionally-crewed motor yacht. The more systems aboard, the more it earns its keep.
Start the record now. It's worth most later.
Every season you run without one is a season of knowledge you can't get back.
